Rockstar Games has just posted about a new original composition that we will be seeing during Max Payne 3. Emicida is a leader of the rap scene in the capital city of São Paulo, which we will be playing in during Max Payne 3. Inspiration from the song comes from São Paulo itself, as this is Emicida's hometown.

("The chaos of the largest city in Latin America, the insecurity, the fear that revolves around this atmosphere of corruption, crime, poverty, the struggle for justice, and all the elements that are part of this environment... The song is divided into two parts. The first part is something along the lines of an internal conflict, and the second is a more political insight, with a glimpse over current events that we are experiencing right now as the game [Max Payne 3] is released. I think the song lives up to the São Paulo that we see today... To have a song sung in Portuguese in a project released worldwide is quite significant to Brazilian music. ‘9 Círculos’ contains a Brazilian flavor that is quite interesting, and it flirts with the maracatu and the samba. It possesses a raw content covering the reality of the streets and I am really happy about that.)"

What do you think of the song? Does it feel like Max Payne still? Let us know in the forums!

Can anyone find what the song is in the nightclub scene? Or is it an exclusive?

No, as I already said in another thread/topic here, it doesn't fit Max Payne at all. I know that Max Payne 3 is set in Sao Paulo and maybe there this music fits better, but still I can't get used to it while listening to it, nor can I imagine to hear this song during Max Payne 3's single player story. It has completely no Max Payne feeling to me, no emotion is in there, even if this plays during various shooting sequences it won't fit. Waiting badly to hear more from the main tracks, composed by HEALTH. It's too much hip-hop in this track, can't get used to it and Max Payne 3 will do either with this track!

I think the response to this one isn't very positive at all, also from what I've seen on the Newswire comments. All think that it doesn't fit a Max Payne game, this would fit to be a track on a radio station in GTAV way more!

I have the feeling that Rockstar knows about the fact that the track isn't fitting Max Payne 3 the way, maybe they would have wanted this one to fit. Have a look on what comment they made on the newswire after reading a couple of negative comments on the track. The words speak volumes, at least I have the feeling they do ...

Hey all - of course everyone's entitled to their own musical taste, but just FYI the soundtrack and score of the game is composed by HEALTH for a dramatic action-packed audio experience to complement the gameplay (read more here: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/21571/first-max-payne-3-soundtrack-details-health-crafting-the-games-o.html). In addition to their score, we're very proud to also have this original contribution from São Paulo's own Emicida as a very faithful sound of the city that you hear during appropriate levels.

Stay tuned for more music from the game and more soundtrack details soon...

Maybe I just got the wrong picture of the track for now, maybe I just have to play through the story and see that it fits in a way I could have never thought of (as of now). Let's see. 6 days to go!

As I said already, I think that the nightclub song/track is pretty exclusive, Rockstar stated at the GTTV Special for Max Payne 3 that they've partnershipped with some musicians, creating an awesome, individual track for the nightclub scene. So we can get excited!

Emmi, don't worry. This music won't be used as a backing track for all those awesome shoot-outs we'll be seeing, this will most likley be used to develop the setting of the poverty in the Favelas in Sao Paulo

-Edit- Yeah it was exclusive, but sometimes the full track is leaked or released, would be nice to hear it in full.

Pause at 1:39 See how the music in the radio stops when he enters bullet time? My guess is, that's what Emicida was doing, we'll heart it in the radio.
