A pop-up version of Max Payne 3's trailer has been released. What Rockstar means as "pop-up" is the fact that there is text in the corners of the screen talking about the games features and feel. The iconic voice of Max Payne, James McCaffrey is back in an expanded role, an an inspiration for Max's look and actions.

 

Max needs to leave New York City quick. Raul Passos arrives just in time to recruit Max to become a private security contractor in Sao Paulo.

 

Passos and Max met years ago at the NY police academy. Passos left the bronx homocide beat to work private security in South and Central America.

 

Through the first and second games, Max had gone from respected cop to vigilante searching for his family's killers to a max who's lost it all - including his job on the force.

 

Sao Paulo is famous for its dank weather, and glamorous social scene, but poverty, gang violence and kidnapping are the darker side of this big city.

 

Rockstar Studios is a cross-studio collaboration pooling resources across multiple Rockstar Games Studios worldwide.

 

Max Payne 3 is firmly rooted in the narrative themes and visual style of noir: stark contrasts, fatal characters, internal monologues, use of shadows, and a dark, twisted storyline.

 

The Comando Sombra, or C.S., are one of the many gangs fighting for control of the city.

 

Melee is deadly and also extremely useful if you're out of bullets and need to borrow some.

 

Cover will only give you a respite, the way to survive and progress is by running and gunning.

 

Using advanced particle physics technology, the destructible environments in Max Payne 3 set the stage for dramatic and chaotic gun fights.

 

The combination of bullet time and Naturalmotion's Euphoria allows for visceral gun combat on a whole new level.

 

All guns are fully articulated and every bullet is physically rendered allowing Max to shoot dodge and use bullet time with great accuracy to avoid individual bullets.

 

Like in the previous games, you are rewarded with a final kill camera once you've eliminated the last enemy in a group.
