The Rockstar Games Social Club is preparing to implement crews. And with that, they have already updated the entire social club website. It now feels more like an actual gaming social network than just a stats tracker. Crew pre-registration starts on May 9th. Check out the new changes!
What do you think of the changes made in the Rockstar Games Social Club? Do you like them, hate them... should they change something? Let us know in the forums!
The new Social Club looks way better than the previous version. It is more organized in my opinion with a couple of improved features, like the live Feed at your profile. So you can track all the latest updates from your Social Club friends, you just don't miss anything. What I like is that you can now edit all the stuff, just as your Social Club ID, the email address, date of birth, et cetera. You have way more options than before. Looking foward to see what special features Max Payne 3 will get, there'll be a 100% checklist, all kind of stats and all the usual stuff, but there'll also be some nice stuff. So crew registration is open from Wednesday, May 9th. Really looking foward to it.
Also at the Rockstar Newswire you should have recognized that the comments section is a little bit new too, so there is actually a reply system, similar to the one from twitter. And if you reply to something, your comment appears directly among the one, among the message/comment you replied to. That's nice, pretty nice and makes things way easier.
I also recognized that Rockstar got rid of the Message site at the Social Club and replaced it with a simple, white page, some kind of a message inbox, which in my opinion is better, you can overlook stuff more easy, your messages. The old system wasn't used by a lot of people, it was just too unorganized. Thank god Rockstar changed it.
Rockstar did a great job with that, can't wait for future stuff for the Social Club. Proud to be a member since a few years ...
UPDATE -nickname
just seen that the nickname is NOT editable at all, so sorry for the wrong info in the text above.
I am definitely looking forward to the crew registrationsection to opening up on Wednesday. Looking to see how it's all going to work in the end. I'm also liking how much more organized the Friends list is, I can find and manage friends much better now.
Well after looking through the site, I noticed I still can't edit my e-mail without having to create a new Social Club profile. I wonder if Rockstar Games are ever going to allow you to edit it as well with your Nickname in the future.
Rockstar did a Epic Job by updating the Social Club! Hopefully there are more features coming soon.
I'm sure that more features are already planned by Rockstar to add to the Social Club in the future. Also the Max Payne 3 Social Club site with the special features, like a 100% checklist, a list with all the stats from single- and multiplayer, et cetera should be unveiled this week and will be open with the games launch next Tuesday (NA)/Friday (UK). I'm excited to see what Social Club members get, what special in-game item/feature for the single player. I could imagine that it's a special outfit or a special gun, we have to see.
I really like the new look of the Social Club, especially the live feed is super cool as well as the new commenting system on the newswire. From now on you don't have to look through the whole comments for replies to one of you made, because you simply get a message on your Social Club profile if you got a new reply! That makes things way more easy.
Next step would be the Social Club TV site, it still has the old look and I do think that it really should be integrated with the new Social Club. Or maybe Rockstar doesn't want to use Rockstar TV any longer and they have already plans for a new system, so where you can post clips from GTA IV, EFLC and in the future GTAV ...

Yeah, haven't they registered GTA TV, Rockstar TV? I can remember something about that. But I agree, the next big Social Club update will come with the launch of GTAV, for sure it won't be an as big update as this one, but we could call it Social Club 2.5 then, now we are on Social Club 2.0 :)
Just a quick reminder!
Crews registration opens on Wednesday, May 9th!
Can't wait for it, should be great, also the logo editor, but I'm also excited to see if we can import a self-made crew logo, so importing a .jpg/.png file or so. I wonder if there can also be made .gif based logos so with changing stuff. Would it be cool or not, can't really decide for myself. I keep my fingers crossed for all future Social Club updates, starting with Wednesday. Get read guys, just 6 days left for the U.S. based residence!
