Thanks rem.

I kinda used your technique, but I camped on the table in the closest back corner of the room, owned the guys on the balcony, and the guys that ran at me. Save. Then I ran near the entrance, got on the table and owned from there. Save. Then moved right across the hall, using the pieces of hanging cloth to defend me from bullets and fire. :P
After the dudes were dead, I just whipped out the dual ingrams before the cutscene kicked in. Afterwards, save. Then just kept my mouse button planted and moved my sights from side to side 'till all the people were dead.

Next mission was just weird. I was paranoid as hell about some scary shit happening. Like, I feared being scared about it, lol?

Yeah so I haven't played (or posted here) in ages, and I'm literally at the scene right after the last time I posted. I'm on 'the baseball bat' and I'm having a bit of trouble. The best method I've had so far is to run out in the corridor to get the guy's attention, then sit on the left edge of the door, let them filter through and then own them one by one.

Amidoinitrite?

That's the way I beat it the first time I played Max Payne on PS2, it's a pretty cheap but very effective way of doing it.

I'm not sure how you're really "supposed" to do it but the last time I played it (PC version) I went down the hallway to the right following the two guys, hit them with the baseball bat, used whatever weapon was dropped on the guy who came out of the garage door ahead of me, turned around, shot those guys who had previously been coming up the left corridor, then from there (through several quicksaves, of course) I think I just cleared out the central garage.

After all this I found out that off the right hallway there is a room chock-full of ammo and guns with no enemies so I assume you're actually supposed to follow those two guys at a distance and then duck into that room and come out guns blazing

As for do I still play Max Payne: Yes, I do. Both games are fairly short, so I usually play them straight through back to back! Not all at once, of course, but it doesn't take more than three-to-four days to beat both of them, really, especially if you've played them once.

As for having to play these two to understand Max Payne 3, from what I'm seeing so far the plot/tone of 3 seems pretty far removed from these two so it might not be required. They're both awesome games though so I highly recommend it.

Would it be possible to upload some screenshots? Would be fantastic, and how does the aiming work?

I just started playing Max Payne again a couple days ago and I've to say that after all these years, after all the playthroughs ... it is still one of the best, or better said one of the most fascinating games I've played in years. Actually Max Payne is that type of game I can play 10 times a row. It's any time challenging. The story is so great and the feeling, the noir style ... I don't have to add that it's just groundbreaking for the year it was released. I do hope that Max Payne never dies and will live on for another decade :)

In my opinion, you cannot beat the stories that have evolved from the Max Payne series. There has been no game that has come close.

I'm a big, no, HUGE fan of Max. I just love him, his world, his past and the way he shootdodges into a room willed with baddies just so he can pick them off in seconds. I loved everything in the first game, the painkillers, the missions, the GRAPHIC NOVELS! Man, they were a blast!

And also, the voice of Max Payne. McCaffrey is absolutely incredible, I can't think of a better actor to suit this role. And now for the third part, he gets to actually do a bit of running and shootdodging himself, which he likes as I read in a interview with him.

I can't tell how many times I've completed this game. I literally know every detail, I remember every mission. And not just for this part. The Fall is... well, just better. That's about it.
"The final bullet was the exclamation mark to everything that led me here..."

- Payne? Max Payne? Is that you?
- Afraid so.

@rockstarrem i agree that MP2 doesnt get old, when i get bored i pop it in and fill dudes with bullets while shootdodging over and over, the mechanic is addictive
